What is your mission and purpose?

The mission and purpose of the English Gambling Education Hub is to provide information, support and training that is clear, consistent and evidence based. The hub aims to enhance the capability of Youth Services, Family Services, Formal Education and other services in England to prevent young people from experiencing gambling harms.

How do you make a difference?

We know that it is difficult finding all the information that you need and that search engines often bring up so many results that it's overwhelming to know where to start! The hub is designed to bring everyone together in one space; it is a place to learn, to network and to join the mission to prevent gambling harms in young people.

What do you offer?

We offer various ways to learn and get involved in gambling harm prevention, including a comprehensive match making feature to find information, training and support.

You can also join our network, access information on training accreditation, take part in our EGEH Film Competition, or apply for a Quality Mark for gambling prevention education in your organisation. We also offer free elearning courses, as well as access to the latest news and updates in the gambling and education industries.

How are you funded?

The English Gambling Education Hub is funded by GambleAware. The funding is distributed by GamCare to its national partner Ygam, and to its regional partners Aquarius, ARA, Beacon, Breakeven, and NECA.

How can I get involved?

There are lots of ways you can get involved in the hub, including joining our network, working towards our Quality Mark, completing our eLearning courses and taking part in our EGEH Film Competition.

Do you have any upcoming events or campaigns?

For our network of professionals, we run regular events, which are often online for your convenience. These events cover a variety of topics to evolve the conversation around gambling harms; including digital literacy, traditional teaching vs new methods and the blurred lines between gambling and gaming.

Do you provide training and resources?

We provide eLearning courses, as well as a wide range of downloadable resources. You can also visit our matchmaking directory to find local training providers.

How can I get help for myself or someone I know who is experiencing gambling harm?

We are not a treatment service, but we can provide you with local support and treatment services if you use our matchmaking directory. Alternatively, you can contact the national GamCare helpline for free at: 0808 8020 133, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
